Coaching at Bristol Lawn Tennis & Squash Club
Hi, my name is Jess Budd I am currently a level three coach in the Bristol area operating out of various clubs. I have access to courts for coaching and most particularly at Bristol Lawn Tennis and Squash Club in Redland.
I started my coaching career at Bristol Lawn Tennis and Squash Club. I began tennis at the age of 7 and have played Junior County and National level tennis and became Avon number one and achieved an under 16 world ranking. During that time I played against players such as Laura Robson, Heather Watson and Jade Curtis.
In my junior tennis years I somehow found the time to play badminton for Avon County, rounders for England and run for Bristol and West athletics, however tennis is my passion.
I obtained a tennis referee qualification at the age of 16 and I frequently run tennis tournaments in the South West area.
I recently returned from the United States after graduating from Clayton State
University where I was on a tennis scholarship. Our team reached Nationals twice in my four years where we progressed to the final four putting our team at 7th in the nation. I was nominated captain which gave me many more responsibilities including activities such as running tennis clinics for other students to play and covering sessions when our coach was away.
As a tennis coach I aim to share my passion for tennis to aspiring tennis players of all ages and endeavour to use my experience to help players achieve their aspirations in tennis.
